Horseback Riding and Horseback Riding Treks:

• What should I wear for the horseback riding tour?
  It’s recommended to wear comfortable, long pants and sturdy shoes with chaps or boots. A (riding) helmet or hat, a nose and mouth cover (for dust, like a scarf or facemask), sunscreen, sunglasses, and gloves are also a good idea to protect from the sun. We have a few riding helmets available for loan if needed.

• Do I need horse riding experience?
  No prior horse riding experience is needed for our tours. Many tourists have completed three-day trips without ever riding before, and they loved it! We ride slowly, up and down the mountains, to fully enjoy the spectacular landscapes, flora, and fauna.

• What happens if I have no prior experience with horses?
  No problem! Our guides will provide a brief introduction and ensure you're comfortable with your horse before starting. We go at a relaxed pace, and beginners are welcome.

• How much are horse riding tours?
  Due to high inflation in Argentina, the price for horseback riding tours can vary. For example, in January 2025, a one-day trip costs between 150-180 euros. This includes transportation, horses, food, and drinks. Please ask for a quote to get the most up-to-date prices.

• How long do the horseback riding tours last?
  Our tours range from one-day trips to multi-day treks, depending on the itinerary you choose. Please inquire for specific details.

• Are the horses well-trained?
  Yes, all of our horses are carefully chosen and trained for trekking. They are experienced and well-cared for, ensuring a safe and enjoyable ride.

• Is there a weight limit for the horseback riding tours?
  Yes, for the well-being of the horses and safety reasons, we kindly request that riders do not exceed 90 kg (200 lbs). Please provide your weight when making a booking.

• What if the weather is bad on the day of my tour?
  If weather conditions make it unsafe to ride, we will work with you to reschedule your tour or offer alternative activities.

• Are meals and drinks included in the multi-day tours?
  Yes, all meals and drinks are included in our multi-day treks. You will enjoy authentic, locally prepared meals throughout your journey. Drinks will be purchased before the trek, and you can specify your preferences. The water from rivers and streams is clean and drinkable, but if you're concerned about water contamination, you may bring your own water filter bottle, which will eliminate almost 99.9% of impurities. You can also bring iodine pills or any other water treatment.

• Can I bring a camera or phone on the ride?
  Yes, you are welcome to bring a camera or phone. We recommend securing it safely to prevent it from falling during the ride, and consider placing it in a clear bag to protect it from dust.

• How do I prepare for a multi-day horseback riding trek?
  For multi-day treks, we recommend packing light ( < 6 kg), with appropriate clothing, towel, personal items, and any necessary medications. Your guide will provide specific recommendations.

• Do I need travel insurance for the tour?
  While travel insurance is not mandatory, we strongly recommend that you have it to cover any unexpected incidents during your trip.

• Can you organize other things for me?
  Yes, I can book flights and buses for you throughout the country. Pre-payment is required.

• Can you pick me up from the airport or bus station?
  When you have a tour booked with Arianepatagonia, we offer a free pick-up service from Bariloche airport.

• Is Bariloche a destination by itself?
  You can certainly visit Bariloche for a longer stay, though it's recommended to use it as a base to travel to Chile or southern Argentina. There is much to explore around Bariloche, and a week here is advisable.

• Are cars easy to rent?
  Renting a car is a great way to explore the country. It’s not too expensive, but be aware that dropping off the car in another city can come with a high fee.
